I asked online where the least expensive place to buy used baby clothes would be around my area. A bunch of people suggested I ask on Buy Nothing groups. I tried that and have gotten a few responses. First I got these baby bottles and some burp clothes. I then got some baby and child socks, and some baby toys.
I got a message from someone in my neighborhood complex about these "boy" clothes. He said some were back from their oldest who was born in the late '70s. The box is really full and pretty heavy.
I met a very nice lady named Jo. She told me about her 5 boys and all of her grandchildren and her single great-grandchild. Her husband died back in December and she's starting to clear out his things. She had two dogs that Miss Spud liked and a bird who only likes her and attacks everyone else.
I was surprised to hear that second hand shops have stopped taking baby gear. I was contacted by someone who had been looking to get rid of a stroller since her grandkids do not need it anymore and was having troubles finding somewhere.
We filled my mom's car with all the donations. There was more room, but I also hadn't expected to get this much.
I got another message after I gave the things I had to my mom. There are a bunch of clothes and toiletries in there. It's so much fun meeting all these new people, even if I will probably never see them again.
